The postponed local derby with Gloucestershire’s Forest Green Rovers finished 2-0 to Town. Swindon’s football season got underway as the town’s two major clubs took to the pitch at the Webb’s Wood Stadium at South Marston. Town, with the new manager David Flitcroft in his first game in charge, came out winners 7-1. Gallery:
A quiet first half ended 0-0 but a quick goal in the second half by Brad Barry on 47 minutes stirred the mix and livened the game up. This was The Valiants first defeat in the league, and also the first league goal they have conceded. Gallery:
