Triple strike zaps Wildcats.

wildcats v MK_1746Swindon Wildcats had to face a tough end to the weekend’s fixtures, as the side fell the wrong side of a 3-1 score to the MK Lightning.

The evening’s action saw an apprehensive start by both sides however despite this, the first goal was soon netted. An early powerplay chance would give the visitors the opening goal of night, as Stan Lascek’s first time effort would finish a precise passing set up. However a powerplay for the ‘Cats minutes later then saw the scores levelled. This time with Tomas Malasinski being fed in front of goal being finishing with  a slapshot through the pads of netminder Stephen Wall.

swindon v mk_1626An intense second period would see Swindon come close however five minutes from time and the Lightning then struck once more to restore their lead. Several circles around the home net would eventually leave Milan Kostourek to find the net after several swipes of the puck.

A manic and hard hitting third period then bought MK’s final of the night, as Blaz Emersic’s individual effort would see the import backhand the puck past Stevie Lyle in net for a 3-1 score. With the lead in hand, the night’s visitors did all they could to defend from here and close out the game to take the night’s victory.

Despite the loss, Swindon will look to get back to winning ways this Saturday when they travel to Sheffield to take on a hosting Steeldogs side.
